To further drive home the immediacy of the problem, the bacteria used was sampled from around the viewers own local environment, and this fact was highlight in the campaign. Samples were taken from local store shelves, cel phones, door knobs and many other places, producing many different types of bacterial growth. Diefenbaker International Airport YXE - Studio Jensen was commissioned to design branding and signage for Refuel restaurant in the secure area of YXE as part of a major airport expansion project designed by Kindrachuk Agrey Architecture. Signage was a unique challenge for the space, as lease restrictions were quite severe. Diefenbaker International Airport YXE - As patrons would be awaiting flights, we proposed the reverse side of the sign bid travelers ‘Bon Voyage’. The next time you get a chance, be sure to walk through REFUEL, featuring an actual wing from a DeHavilland Otter aircraft above the bar and not one, but two tail sections of smaller planes serving as tables. This simple, clean and bold solution portrays movement and transition, with a subdued palette of grey, silver and natural walnut allowing the many arresting features of the restaurant to take centre stage. Where the skirt meets each joist end plate, the board has no cuts; this is so that the screws can be driven into solid material from the back. The edge hasn't been sanded or planed yet and still has epoxy on the surface. West System Epoxy (slow cure) is used to laminate the strips instead of white glue, as it is perfectly suited to exterior carpentry. Then from the molds, parts for the final figures are made. Here, the plug is covered in fiberglass that will be pulled off to become a mold.
